Energy efficiency is high on the agenda of the European Union which has issued new major policies and initiatives over the past years including the Energy Services Directive. European countries are expected to take energy efficiency measures and report results in all sectors, including agriculture. However, agriculture has been a sector where only few countries have announced to have significant measures in place.

The focus of this two-day-event will be on dissemination of Nordic research results and best practices on energy efficiency in agriculture. The seminar and workshop presents opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange. By collecting Nordic experiences together will help to share the results in a wider European context.

The seminar and workshop are targeted on experts working with energy efficiency in agriculture in agricultural organisations, energy agencies, research organisations and consultancies as well as farm energy advisors.

Venue

The conference takes place at Sokos Hotel Vantaa, located 7 km from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
There exists a bus connection from the Airport to the hotel. In addition, the venue is easily accessible
from the Helsinki city centre. By train it takes about 20 minutes and the Tikkurila railway station is
located just 100 m from the venue.
