The results of the project was discussed during Sustainable Innovation Forum, a high level political event held by UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and Climate Action alongside COP19 in Warsaw.
Input from the BSR Bioenergy Promotion 2 was provided by ConVoco – Consulting for Sustainable Development within a debate session dedicated to the problem of sustainable growth of urban areas. Other panelists participating in the debate included: Climate Business Department of International Finance Corporation, Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA and Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the Mayor of Warsaw.
The event was opened by United Nations and UNEP Executive Director and Janez Potocnik, Commissioner for Environment, European Commission. Connie Hedegaard, European Commissioner for Climate Action provided closing remarks of the event.
This high level political event was a great opportunity to share the message and political agenda on sustainable usage of bioenergy represented by the project.
