This policy guidance paper has been elaborated within the frame of WP 3, task 3.4 „Sub-regional and municipal policy strategies promoting sustainable bioenergy“. It provides findings from 10 good practice policy showcases from 8 countries of the Baltic Sea Region illustrating how bioenergy production and consumption can be promoted on a local level in a largely sustainable way. Special emphasis is given to the integration of sustainability criteria for bioenergy production into sub-regional and municipal activities. It aims to provide inspiration and orientation regarding local policies and measures supporting sustainable bioenergy production and consumption.
