This document has been elaborated in the frame of the INTERREG IVB project Bioenergy Promotion (BP). It addresses both national and regional policy makers, public authorities and support scheme managers in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) implementing bioenergy targets, strategies, and policy frameworks. It also addresses policy advisory organisations and policy platforms in the Baltic Sea Region, like the Council of Baltic Sea States Expert Group on Sustainable Development Baltic 21. The document might be of interest to other stakeholders in the field of bioenergy as well. The purpose of the document is to synthesize key findings from the eight country policy assessment reports developed in Bioenergy Promotion under Work Package 3 (Policy). The document is mainly divided into two parts: the first part contains general information about key support schemes in the field of bioenergy, the second parts summarizes selected policy measures and examples from the BSR specifically promoting sustainable bioenergy production and use in the BSR and beyond.
